The Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme in schools plays a crucial role in addressing both educational and nutritional needs. By providing free, nutritious meals to students, it not only combats hunger but also enhances attendance and concentration. This initiative promotes equity in education, ensuring that children from all socioeconomic backgrounds receive a basic level of nourishment, fostering a conducive learning environment. Additionally, the MDM scheme contributes to overall health improvements, aiding in the physical and cognitive development of students. Ultimately, this program acts as a catalyst for educational inclusivity and the well-being of school-going children.
