Daksha Union, in true spirit of national pride, celebrated Republic Day not just as one day, but spread the festivities across two memorable events.
Quizzing their Way to Knowledge:
On January 23rd, the Union partnered with Neerurava Mission, Thiruvananthapuram, to conduct a stimulating quiz competition based on Indian history, constitution, and vibrant culture. First year B.Ed. students shone bright, with Haritha Y.A. and Jishnu J.S. bagging the first prize, Karthika S.V. and Stella P.T. claiming the second, and Sudheera S. and Remya V.M. from second year B.Ed. taking home the third prize.
Republic Day Dawns with Flag Hoisting:
January 26th dawned bright, marking the official Republic Day celebrations. Principal Dr. A.V. Sujith Sir led the flag hoisting ceremony, raising the tricolour with dignity and pride. The main program in the General Hall of G.C.T.E Thycaud buzzed with excitement.
A Tapestry of Words and Performances:
Union Chairman Amal R. set the tone with a warm welcome speech, followed by Principal Dr. Sujith's inspiring presidential address. Dr. Santhosh Kumar (Vice Principal) and Dr. S. Kumar (Head of Tamil Department) offered their felicitations, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The stage then transformed into a kaleidoscope of vibrant cultures. Students showcased the rich heritage of states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Jammu and Kashmir through captivating speeches and captivating dances. Each performance was a vibrant immersion into the essence of each state, reminding everyone of India's diverse tapestry.
Sreelekshmi S.L. from First year B.Ed. delivered a moving speech on the significance of Republic Day, further echoing the theme of unity and national pride. Sruthi's instrumental performance added a touch of melody to the air, while a patriotic song contest saw First year B.Ed. and First year M.Ed. students battling it out with their renditions, with the former ultimately crowned champions.
