Field Trip ❤️❤️❤️🌻🌻🌻

On 30 November 2023 we have our field trip. We gathered near the Kuthira Malika entrance at 9.30 am. 
Kuthira Malika 
The Kuthira Malika, also known as Puthen Malika, is a majestic palace in Trivandrum, Kerala, India. Built in the 19th century by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Balarama Varma, it stands adjacent to the Padmanabhaswamy Temple. The name "Kuthira Malika" translates to "Mansion of Horses," reflecting the 122 wooden horses adorning its southern facade.

This architectural marvel showcases a perfect blend of Kerala and Dravidian styles. The palace's exterior boasts intricate carvings, and its red and white facade exudes regality. Inside, the museum preserves a rich collection of artifacts, including royal artifacts, paintings, and musical instruments.

The highlight of Kuthira Malika is the exquisite craftsmanship displayed in each room. The flooring, made of gleaming Italian marble, complements the rosewood and teak interiors. The Darbar Hall, adorned with crystal chandeliers, mirrors the opulence of its era. Visitors are transported back in time as they explore the Maharaja's personal belongings and the rare treasures housed within.

Sree chithra Art Gallery

Wax Museum

Vadakke Kotta 
 Vadakke Kotta, also known as East Fort, is a historical fort located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala, India. Built by the Travancore kings in the 18th century, it stands as a symbol of the city's rich heritage. The fort's architecture reflects a blend of indigenous Kerala style with influences from Dutch and British designs.
Surrounded by a circular wall with four gates facing different directions, Vadakke Kotta houses the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple, an iconic religious structure dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The fort complex includes various historical structures, museums, and a bustling market area. The vibrant atmosphere around Vadakke Kotta draws both locals and tourists, offering a glimpse into Trivandrum's cultural and historical significance. The fort stands as a living testament to the region's royal past and continues to be a focal point for cultural events and festivities.
After all the site seeing we wind up the programme at 1.30pm.It  was a wonderful journey.
